We three kings…

January 6th…a day to celebrate the long anticipated arrival of Epiphany or ‘Little Christmas.’ We shared in the richness of the season, telling the children tales of the wise men and exchanging small gifts. There were Mexican tin rocking horses and black pottery birds, Peruvian porcelain angels playing lutes, gourd boxes bright as carmine and adorned with ravens, three-legged good luck piggies from Chile, ornaments declaring ‘Te Amo’ and wooden letters to spell out one’s name…earrings, race cars, purses and figurines…all these to say we are thinking of one another today, we love one another, we are grateful to share yet another holiday together as a family. Tomorrow we shall remove all the ornaments from our beloved Christmas tree, and put them away for another tree’s lovely branches.
